Future Areas of Work
The Himalayan Yeti Club plans to further focus its activities in the following program areas:
- » Conservation of cultural heritage
- » Environmental protection with participation of local people
- » Introduction of low-cost appropriate technologies such as mini hydro-power plants, improved stoves, and bio-energy
- » Promotion of eco-tourism enterprises at the village level
- » Establishment of Tourist Information Centers
- » Support to run village libraries
- » Support medical facilities and education to economically weak members of Sherpa communities of Junbesi and its surrounding areas.
- » Support for capacity building of local people
